yes, believe it or not . . . we can read, and because of that, we are starting our very own reference library. we have some ideas of books and magazines we want, but thought it would be fun to ask you girls if you have any suggestions. please help!

the sag awards

eh. we can't say that we were blown away with the fashion at the sag awards, but our girl diane kruger made our hearts sing in this jason wu number, especially because it reminded us of the vera wang beauty that michelle willams wore to the 2006 oscars. do you guys think pacey had anything to do with this? both ladies were smart enough to pair that lovely mustard color with the perfect red lip. now all they needed was this little sparkler to serve as icing on the cake.

the tight off

and no, we did not take our tights off. since it's been a bit cold here in l.a. (below 70 degrees), all the girls at ban.do have been wearing our best tights. so we decided that we would have an office wide competition to see who had the best of the best. well let's just say that these girls play hard ball. i just grabbed my sparkliest (not a word, i know) pair of tights and thought i would take it, but oh how wrong i was. these girls brought the lace, the leopard, the shine, the fishnet and the sequins. it was tough, but the sequins took it. madeline, our winner, actually hand stitched sequins onto her tights. uh-may-zing! the prize was gonna just be candy, cause we love us some candy, but madeline decided she would like a cupcake instead. congrats, maddy. now what competition should we have next? we were thinking either best nails or best fake eye lashes. do you guys have any ideas? oh, and which pair of tights would you vote for?

sequins and ruffles and glam, oh my.

even with the nasty downpour in LA, the ladies of the silver screen graced the red carpet dressed to the nines.  thankfully they were covered under a blanket of umbrellas to save their fancy coifs.  the award show must go on!!
we were blown away with all of that glam, sparkle, and beauty ... the stuff that makes our world go 'round.   the whole ban.do crew picked their favorite look of the evening.  who is your vote for best dressed for the golden globes??

who is jackie gonzales?

well we wish we could answer that, but we can't. a group of us ban.do gals met some friends over at the roger room last week, and the bartender was kind enough to let us sit at some reserved tables assuring us that the party that had them reserved would not be there for several hours. well about 30 minutes later a different bartender came by to tell us that these tables were reserved for jacki g.'s birthday party, and we would have to move. we said that we'd be happy to, but he changed his mind and said, "let's just see what happens, she should be here at 9:00 with 30 people in tow." well, that's where the fun started. we decided to call the bar and say we were jackie g. and we were angry that people were at our table. well, we did, but no one answered, so we left a message. and then another (this time in a russian accent - - thanks, madeline). and then a couple more. a few minutes later the bartender came by and said jackie called and she was pissed but it was hard to hear her message. so we held in our laughter until he left and then did the only reasonable thing . . . call again. well, jackie never showed and the bartenders did not find the humor in a bunch of ladies making crank calls to their establishment. oh well. at least the drinks were good.

lately ban.do has really been turning into a giggly girls club, and jamie and i couldn't be happier. there are 7 of us now and we have all become fast friends. this weekend we gathered for a screening of "Valentino: The Last Emperor." we all agreed it would be appropriate to stay in our pj's and head to jamie's house on sunday morning. we ate bagels, and berries with fresh whipped cream (thanks, jamie), sipped champagne cocktails and oohed and ahhhed over the work of the creative genius that is valentino (oh and that spray tan is pretty darn impressive, too). in honor of the man, the myth, the legend, our monday=funday coupon code is "valentino." the first two glam gals to enter it at checkout will get $50 off of any one piece from our ban.do line. woo hoo and a hip hip hooray and hurry up, cause these coupon codes are getting popular.
